PCOS. Dont know what to do.?

My doctor just told me yesterday that I have PCOS, I don't know what to do because I'm still in my teenage years! Are there really any dangers with PCOS? My doctor says there is no way to cure it. But should I start taking medicine to decrease the chances of heart attack, other risks and some sort of cancer? What affect would it have on my life??
