Can a locket be used as a wax seal?

I've been writing letters back and forth to 2 of my best friends for a while now and wanted to start using sealing wax stamps... Now, I started looking at stamps and I cant quite find anything that I like; on the other hand, I have a locket that I wear all the time with a Claddagh in pretty high relief on it and, as it is sort of recognizable as being part of me, I was wondering if it could be used to stamp sealing wax? I don't want to ruin the necklace or anything, it is sterling silver rather than brass like most of the seals I have been seeing. Thanks for any help you can give me :)
