Should I be mad at my bf if he didn't read the book I lent him?

I recommended he read the kite runner and he seemed really excited saying hel read it for me and everything and so far its been a month and the books just lying around in his house..hes not a reader and i dont want to tell him to read it..plus i kinda want the book back what do i say?
